Delete your Nestora account
Last updated · September 2026
This page is for anyone with an account in the Nestora apps: the Nestora parent app (developer: Nestora), also available in any browser at parent.getnestora.app, and the staff app at app.getnestora.app. You can have your account, and the personal data linked to it, deleted at any time. You do not need the app installed to do it.
Parents and guardians: how to delete your account
- Sign in to the Nestora parent app, or to parent.getnestora.app in any browser. Nothing needs to be installed.
- Open Account and choose Delete my account. You are asked for your password again, so that nobody holding your unlocked phone can do this in your name.
- Your nursery reviews the request. It is the controller of your data and knows your family; it may need to settle something with you first, such as an unpaid invoice. If so, the app shows you what it wrote.
- Once the nursery approves, your account is deleted 48 hours later. Until then your account keeps working and you can cancel in the same place. We email you when the deletion is done.
From your request to the deletion takes 30 days at most. Nestora is told when a nursery has not answered within a week, or holds a request, and follows it up.
Deletion is handled nursery by nursery. If you use Nestora with more than one nursery, ask in each one; the sign-in account itself is deleted once no nursery remains.
Nursery staff
A staff account belongs to the nursery you work for. Ask your nursery administrator to remove it; if you cannot reach them, write to us using the contact details below.
If you cannot sign in
First try Forgot password on the sign-in screen. If that does not get you in, email hello@getnestora.app with the name of your nursery and the email address or phone number you sign in with.
We never act on an email alone, because anyone can send one. Before anything is deleted we confirm the request through the email address or phone number already on your account, and with your nursery.
What is deleted
When your account is deleted, we delete or erase:
- Your sign-in account, so the email or phone number can no longer be used to sign in.
- Your name, email address and phone numbers in the nursery's contact record, and the link between you and your child's profile.
- Messages you sent to the nursery, and their attachments.
- Your notifications, read receipts, and the device tokens used to send you push notifications.
What we keep, and why
Some records must outlive an account. They are kept with your personal details removed wherever the record allows it:
- Invoices, payments, and the payment proofs you uploaded, which are financial records the nursery is required to keep.
- The evidence that a consent was given or withdrawn.
- Attendance records, with the name of whoever collected the child erased.
- Entries in the security audit trail, with personal details redacted.
Backup copies cannot be edited. Deleted data leaves them as they expire: daily copies after 30 days, monthly copies after 12 months.
Your child's records
Your child's enrolment, attendance, daily reports and photos belong to the nursery's records, not to your account, so deleting your account does not delete them. To have a child's data deleted, ask your nursery, which is the data controller, or write to us in the same way and we will work with the nursery.
Deleting some data without deleting your account
You can ask for specific data to be deleted, for example messages or a phone number, and keep your account. Ask your nursery, or email us and say which data; we confirm it with you in the same way. Consent for photos and health information can be withdrawn at any time inside the parent app, under Account.
